2018 Year-End Survey Summary

In late 2018, the Majestic Oaks Men's Club Board of Directors polled our membership regarding all aspects of the Majestic Oaks Men's Club and Majetics Oaks Golf Club.  The results were used to improve our men's club and provide feedback to the golf course. A sumary of that survey is below:

Weekend Events:

  • Large majority of members like the number and mix of events, assessing late fees; a minority prefer more events

  • >80% of members are okay with online registration, small number still prefer paper registration

  • Most popular games involve playing-your-own-ball with various scoring formats and 2-man pick your partner

  • Membership split on multi-tee vs club tee, but almost all want flighting by handicap rather than tee
     

Weeknight Events:

  • Many members want to limit players or start earlier to ensure we finish before sunset

  • We cannot start earlier due to Majestic Oaks having events/tournaments throughout the day

  • Multiple comments about registering early rather than on a first come first serve basis

    • Board will discuss ways to do this

  • Most popular games involve playing-your-own-ball with various scoring formats and different games every week

  • Membership split on multi-tee vs club tee, but almost all want flighting by handicap rather than tee
     

Match Play:

  • Majority like the match play as is

  • Many want a split pot for 3rd/4th place matches rather than playing out the match

  • We will likely move to split the pot for 3rd/4th place matchs, but players can decide if they want to play out the match

  • Many comments regarding scheduling issues with opponent(s)

  • Majestic Oaks cannot commit to tee times this far in advance
     

Communications:

  • Majority like the website and emails as is, >80% of members visit website weekly, but Facebook visits are much lower

  • Website requests: pairings, tee times and hole assignments, full-field results, registered participant list prior to event

    • Board will discuss ways to do this
       

Signature Showdown & Crown Royal:

  • Majority like the Signature Showdown and Crown Royal raffle drawing “as is”

  • A large percentage of the respondents were unsure of the Signature Showdown or specific aspects of it

  • More marketing of the Signature Showdown is needed

  • Some question whether you need to be present to win in Crown Royal raffle drawing

    • Board will discuss this further
       

General Feedback:

  • Majority of respondents feel good about the Men’s Club overall and do plan to return

  • Many respondents would like to see an emphasis on competitive golf & increased participation

  • A notable amount of comments regarded improving rules knowledge & course etiquette

    • Board will discuss ways to do this
